Chercher l’abyme

In the same vein as in Se connaître, the figure of the dog is used with the same manufacturing strategies. This time, rather than using a mirror, it is laminated facets (formica) that reproduce the shape of the animal. The latter is placed on a one-way mirror (6 feet by 4 feet) on its four legs and seems to push its head into the glass as it might do in water. At this precise location, under the one-way mirror, a mise en abyme effect due to the presence of a mirror and a circular fluorescent tube. The light from the tube is reflected dozens of times until it fades, as if the dog's action created depth.
