Commando Christmass

Commando Christmass

In the woods of a park in downtown Quebec City, twenty-five six-foot-high cones are scattered among the trees. They are covered with fabrics bearing the pixelated military camouflage pattern. A faint artificial glow comes from inside the cones. The idea is to associate the shape of the cone with the pattern of the surface to generate the image of fir trees. Also, since it was an event around the theme of Christmas, I found it interesting to propose a double reading, that of the fir tree, but also that of a regiment of soldiers.

An indoor version of the installation was also created in 2012.
