Le bruit du Vent
The Noise of the Wind is an urban intervention installed in places of passage. The device is composed of four large signs of electroluminescent diodes, an outdated model made of RGB LEDs. When we approach the device, the video image gives way to the plastic qualities of the diodes in action. We then only see the colored flickering of these luminous pixels.
Each sign features a quarter of a video that shows leafy trees buffeted by strong winds. The videos gradually pixelate, until some sections become animated mosaics in military camouflage colors, as if the windier it gets, the more pixelated the video becomes.
This video intervention invites us to stop, to take our time, to appreciate the plastic character of the light device of this video “tableau”. A temporal tableau that goes from abstraction to the precision of the videographic image.
