The Multiples: The Stargate
This installation plays on the multiplicity of genres and registers. It mixes the modalities of minimalist sculpture with those of furniture design and fiction. A series of modules repeat themselves until they are embedded in the gallery wall (or extracted from it), and painted in the same bright yellow. Two of these simple modules become more complex by acting according to other registers.
The "Stargate" opens one of its surfaces like a screen. Through a play of mirrors, lights multiply, giving the illusion of infinity, like a cheap special effect.
