Post-romantic
This is a series of sculptures that function as prisms of frosted glass through which we can glimpse sculptural compositions. This series of sculptural compositions plays with the vocabulary and field of representation of traditional still lifes (citrus fruits, furs, fabrics, clocks, bones, stuffed birds, plants, etc.) Through these compositions of objects from a traditional representation, I integrate contemporary objects that could appeal to the ideas of vanitas and memento mori, but also to current concepts such as planned obsolescence and disuse. These compositions are introduced into the frosted acrylic boxes, as if they were glass bells, presenting fragments of internal compositions through their frosted surfaces. These surfaces act as screens; suggesting shapes that lose their definitions the further they are from the eye.
