Rorschach Gate
This sculpture is composed of six monitors arranged in an arc of a circle. The latter is placed on a mirror floor and stuck against a wall, also made of mirror. The six monitors are reflected both on the floor and on the wall, creating the illusion of a double circle. Each monitor shows the same video: the detail of a cloud moving in fast motion. The video is reversed symmetrically from screen to screen, creating a mirror effect between the devices, then reversed by the play of mirrors. We thus lose the visual referent in favor of a set composed of symmetrical patterns, like a Rorschach test constantly changing shapes at slow speed.
